When severe weather strikes, we’re ready to serve.

The most vulnerable Oregonians are impacted the greatest during intense weather. Do Good is proud to collaborate with The Joint Office of Homeless Services, along with Multnomah County and the City of Portland, to operate emergency shelters in cases of snow, extreme cold, forest fire smoke, and sweltering heat.

Flexibility, Compassion, & Answering the Call

Severe Weather Shelters are activated when weather conditions hit certain thresholds determined through the guidance of our partners at Multnomah County.

  • The shelters are stocked with food, water, and safety supplies for managing the temperatures.

  • Whenever possible, these programs include outreach efforts to connect with those on the streets who may not be ready to come inside.

  • No one will be turned away, and public transit is free for those seeking shelter.

While these projects are all-hands-on-deck efforts, they reflect our love for this city and the people in it.
